Syesha. I'm aware this is a singing competition and therefore i should judge each contestant solely on their singing ability, but this girl's personality is abysmal. i think a brick is more lively. im a good judge of character and i can say with 100% certainty this girl is as genuine as donald trump's hair. with that being said, she sings well, but she's not unique enough to really make a career out of it. she sings well. that's about as far as it goes.
Kristy kristy kristy. a tragically pretty girl who has probably been told all her life how cute and talented she is, only to realize once on the show of her dreams that she's incredibly UNtalented. i never thought i'd say this, but she makes kellie pickler sound like celine dion. that's a feat. also, she appears to be stuck in the year 1994. lose the perm. and the torn jeans. (ok so it's probably naturally curly, but you should seriously straighten it like ALL THE TIME). in all seriousness though, she seems like a nice girl and i kind of feel sorry for her that she probably wont last longer than a couple more weeks.
this brings me to my MOM'S least favorite. brooke a.k.a. the oldest looking 24 year old in the universe. i have an unpleasant feeling this chick is going to make it much further in this competition than I'd like. I cant quite put my finger on what i dont like about her. i enjoy her performances. i do not enjoy her premature wrinkles. it totally creeps me out. why do you look like you're 36 years old? also, watching her sing while playing the piano just makes me uncomfortable. i can tell she's not quite accomplished enough on the piano to be able to sing AND play without concentrating really hard. she was constantly looking down at her hands and darting her eyes nervously about the room. it was strange. she looked confused and terrified. when a singer performs with an instrument, it should feel careless and without stress. watch some elton john on the keys. some billy joel. THAT is how it's done. none of this stuff. and dude. seriously look at those wrinkles.
I've already discussed Amanda a.k.a. bride of chucky at length, and so i do not have much else to add. she's frightening, devoid of human emotion, and without any kind of talent whatsoever aside from a wicked janis joplin impression. i keep wondering what is keeping simon from pointing this out. i will admit that there has been an increase in smiling on her part. nevertheless, she remains chucky-liscious and therefore completely without my support.
im still extremely disappointed that danny is gone. if he ever comes out with a record, im totally buying it. he's like the new barry manilow, only not painful to the ears and with a sense of style. (i no longer harbor ill feelings toward him for being thinner and more fabulous than me).
