Spring break was awesome. Granted, I'm a bit envious of my many friends who took trips to warm destinations...BUT i saved money by staying close to home. And let's admit it, even if we had gone to myrtle beach or florida, we would have ended up doing the same exact thing we did in louisville....only farther away and with less money. well, and on a beach.
so, sunday night jen and i decided to begin our spring break adventures early and be spontaneous. Actually, I decided and then I sort of talked her into it.
tuesday, we took off for louisville. stayed in the Brown Hotel right on Fourth street and just a block away from Fourth Street Live. I knew this place was expensive and whatnot, because it's on some list of the best places to stay in the world. and it was really, really beautiful...but DANG were those people rude. we were the only people under the age of 60 there. and all the workers looked at us like we were cockroaches.
i'd say my favorite part of the vacation was getting lost in the ghetto of louisville while trying to walk to the store. and then going to a Kroger that was so ghetto there were policemen guarding the door. then walking home with a grocery bag through the ghetto with homeless men eyeing it like a fat kid looking at cake. and of course the girls made ME carry it. i didnt get mugged though. and i'd have to say, it was a whole lot scarier walking through the lobby of a ritzy hotel than it was walking through a small colony of homeless men. you just dont want to mess with the ladies at that place.
well i could go on and on but i will stop now. sweet dreams!
