a blog, by request.

happy anniversary to me. happy anniversary to me. happy anniversary dear me. happy anniversary to me.

today marks the one year anniversary of working at United. if i liked cake, i'd be eating it right now. and maybe ice cream, too. instead, i'll settle for singing to myself. actually, just typing out the song. to myself.

but it is a rather important milestone, considering i've never in my life worked a whole year at one job. it seems almost impossible to believe. i have been working since i was 15 and until this day, i had never been at a job for a whole year. i was pretty close with hollywood video, but even that killer job couldnt keep my interest for an entire year. (11 months).

but now, here i am.... a year later. im filled with a sense of nostalgia. it seems like only yesterday i was meeting my training roomies kate and keriann....making fun of the silliness that is flight attendant school. waking up at 5:30 a.m. 6 days a week to attend 9 or 10 hours of class. the constant exclamations of "I HATE MY LIFE!" (usually coming from me, immediately following the buzzing of our alarm clock). the daily consumption of hot dogs (also by me. how can you NOT get a hot dog?) the never ending fear and intimidation put upon us by United as one by one, people got kicked out of training. go to lunch, come back to class, and lo and behold........someone is missing! go to their room......and all of their stuff is gone! never heard from or seen again. we lived in constant paranoia that we would be asked to leave. our appearance had to be impeccable at all times. we had to wear business attire if we left our bedrooms. they controlled what color nail polish we could wear and how we wore our hair. in other words, it was insane.

amazingly, i was never asked to leave. despite my constant note-passing with keriann and our bad habit of making fun of each and every thing about our day.

i almost miss it. almost.

im back on reserve tomorrow for another 6 days. i have a horrible horrible feeling im going to get international. but im trying to think positively. if i absolutely MUST get international, please Lord give me Paris. there are 2 Paris trips that i see for tomorrow. if i HAVE to go somewhere far away, that's where i'd want to go.

also, Marie Osmond needs to get kicked off dancing with the stars, STAT. when i watch her dance, i wonder how on God's green Earth did she ever become famous? i think my dog dances better. i know she's a singer, but still. stage presence, please.
